Sepsis and Critical Care Research Funding Call
Uganda
In partnership with the Uganda Virus Research Institute (UVRI), CHART-A supports high-impact research and training to improve outcomes for people with sepsis and other critical illnesses in Uganda—a region at the heart of the global sepsis crisis.
This funding initiative advances locally led research to better understand and manage sepsis in real-world settings. We support projects that improve sepsis diagnosis, uncover how the body’s response to infection leads to organ failure, and develop practical tools and sepsis treatment strategies for under-resourced hospitals.
We also invest in the future of care by funding protected time and stipends for Ugandan clinician-scientists—doctors and nurses conducting bedside-based research—to continue their investigations, mentor trainees, and lead improvements in sepsis and critical care within Uganda’s public health system.
