Education and Training Funding Call
Ethiopia and Rwanda
Despite growing demand, access to advanced clinical training remains limited across much of sub-Saharan Africa. In Ethiopia and Rwanda, the need for skilled specialists in pulmonary, critical care, and emergency medicine is acute—especially as countries face rising burdens of respiratory failure, sepsis, and other life-threatening illnesses. CHART-A partners with leading local institutions to build sustainable medical education programs and equip the next generation of African clinicians with the tools they need to lead.
In Ethiopia, CHART-A collaborates with Addis Ababa University, Tikur Anbesa (Black Lion) Hospital, and the East Africa Training Initiative (EATI) to support the country’s first pulmonary and critical care fellowship. In Rwanda, we work with King Faisal Hospital and the King Faisal Foundation to expand national training programs in both pulmonary/critical care and emergency medicine. These partnerships aim to increase equitable access to high-quality care, strengthen clinical teaching, and develop African-led solutions to urgent health needs.
